Join us for an interactive workshop delivered by Ellen Whitfield, Senior Sustainability Consultant, and Mark Nelson, Associate Principal, from ARUP. Ellen and Mark supported the development of the City’s Net Zero Guidance Material. They bring experience from their specializations in building design, decarbonization, and net zero strategy, helping organizations translate climate goals into practical, deliverable actions across new and existing buildings.

What you’ll learn:

This workshop will focus on education, practical tools, and replicable strategies designed to help building owners plan and advance their own net zero retrofits. Participants will work alongside peer building owners and project teams to explore common challenges, compare approaches, and share practical lessons learned.

Why it matters:

As energy costs rise and resiliency pressures grow, commercial real estate owners, property managers, and affordable housing operators are seeking practical ways to manage costs and plan for the future. The City, in partnership with Arup, has developed guidance and tools to help identify retrofit opportunities and chart clear decarbonization pathways. By clarifying potential energy and carbon reductions alongside required investments, these materials support more informed, strategic decision‑making for the long‑term performance of your buildings.

Additional information:

There will be an opportunity for peer networking over refreshments, giving participants the chance to debrief the workshop and share insights.

Register here to secure your spot.

See you there!
